Senior Alert Scheme
The Senior Alert Scheme provides a free personal alarm that enables older people of limited means to continue to live securely and independently in their homes. These alarms connect to a national helpline if activated and will put you through to a helpline operator who will phone emergency services if necessary.
The alarm and installation of it are free under the scheme. After the first year, you will be asked to pay the annual monitoring fee. The service provider will advise you of the monitoring fee cost prior to installation.
The older person must be 65 years old or older and living alone or with another eligible person. If you know of someone who may be interested in this scheme, please contact our reception team on 0599722028.
All courses can be delivered on a one-to-one basis or group setting.
Our FRC offers a wide range of groups and activities to suit all ages. We hold informal courses suited to those who are seeking recreational and leisure pursuits including: Cookery, Horticulture, Digital photography, Beginners and Intermediate computers, and Arts n Crafts. (all subject to numbers and funding)
Families can avail of our Parent & Toddler Group, Buggy Buddies, Healthy Street Programs and parenting workshops on different topics.
For older members of our community we provide a social club with transport provided by the service. Our Nifty Fifty group engage in a variety of activities including: bingo, cookery, self-care, and exercise.
If you would like to avail of any of our family support services, please contact our Family Support Team or download our referral form. All services are voluntary and confidential.
