Lá Nua works under the Framework for Community Employment Drug Rehabilitation Schemes (Dept of Social Protection) and is hosted by Bagenalstown Family Resource Centre Ltd.
This scheme was put in place to provide rehabilitation training and development opportunities for people who are in recovery from drug and alcohol misuse or on maintenance in the Carlow area.
Lá Nua C.E. Programme started in January 2015, with a mission:To provide participants (over 18) who are in recovery from substance misuse with a supported environment offering training and education, building on their personal development and self- reliance through employment
Each participant has an Individual Learning Plan and Progression Plan (ILP). This is basic at initial contact when information about their skills, abilities, education, interests and aspirations is gathered. Over time the ILP develops into a more comprehensive learning plan aimed at assisting participants to identify their skills abilities and explore realistic and attainable progression plans.
Since the start of the programme a very close link has been developed with the KCETB which has seen a Significant number of accredited educational modules being delivered, both on an individual basis and as part of a group as demonstrated below.
